Los Angeles, CA — RES IPSA opened its third permanent retail location on February 4, 2020. The new store is in Culver City (Los Angeles), joining its two strongly performing flagship stores in world premier travel destinations Nantucket and Aspen. RES IPSA also has a pop-up location in the Knox District of Dallas. The brand opened a factory in Marrakech, Morrocco in October.
The Los Angeles store opened on the heels of a successful three-month pop-up at Platform in Culver City, an emerging outdoor retail & dining destination in the heart of a booming neighborhood that boasts new LA headquarters for the likes of Amazon, Apple, Netflix and HBO.

“Los Angeles is one of our top three e-commerce markets,” said Moore. “A West Coast flagship store at the experiential Platform is a natural extension of the brand that will allow us to give Angelenos an opportunity to experience the boldness and imagination of our designs firsthand,” said Gogo.
Res Ipsa’s unique point of view can be traced in addition to co-founders Josh and Odini’s personal style and vision as the brand truly finds its creativity and inspiration from its travel experiences and core beliefs. With the recent introduction of its atelier and showroom in Marrakech, Morocco, Res Ipsa can continue to grow by sourcing its own fabrics and providing opportunities to artisans in the local community while simultaneously supporting its tailoring/manufacturing processes from start-to-finish.
“Controlling the means of production enables us to make only what we need, sustainably.” said Moore.

Notably, the LA pop-up will also focus on RES IPSA’s expansion into sustainable and up-cycled apparel collection designed and reimagined by the owners and co-founders Josh Moore and Odini Gogo. The collection features embroidered Vietnam-era military liners (inspired by Japanese sukajan jackets), reimagined varsity jackets, repurposed vintage Levi’s 501s, and bomber jackets made from African wax fabric.
The light-filled 543 square foot Los Angeles store is now open year-round at Platform in Culver City, CA. Res Ipsa’s retail neighbors at Platform include the Optimist, Monocle, Aesop, Reformation, and Maison Kitsune (pop-up). Our favorite Platform dining options include Bianca Cafe & Blue Bottle Coffee, Roberta’s, sweetgreen, Loqui and Margot. Opened in 2016, PLATFORM has also been called the "template for a new kind of shopping experience" and houses a diverse group of tenants, from fitness studios, offices and restaurants in the repurposed industrial building. PLATFORM is the perfect location for a RES IPSA store.
The store has the complete RES IPSA collection of slippers and sneakers made from vintage Turkish kilim rugs, as well as luggage and other accessories such as tote bags and clutches made from vintage Moroccan textiles.
"2020 is going to be a big year for Res Ipsa," said Gogo. "In addition to our Los Angeles store, we will be announcing a fourth permanent retail location that is set to open in mid-May."
Shop the Los Angeles store daily from 11am-7pm — Res Ipsa 8830 Washington Blvd. Suite 101, Culver City, CA 90232.
