Marrakech, Morocco — From the beginning of Res Ipsa, we dreamed of expanding our product offerings and creating a lifestyle. We decided that in order to create the products we love in a sustainable way, we must control the means of production. We built our own atelier (French for "workshop") in Marrakech to supply our retail stores and website with apparel and home goods. If you have been to one of our retail stores or if you have been following us on social media, you may have seen some of the products we make in our atelier.
We built our factory as space to create well-made products in a responsible, sustainable way. In the process, we employ local artisans. There is tremendous waste in the fashion industry. High minimum quantities and emphasis on inexpensive processes mean much of what is produced ends up in landfills. Controlling the tailoring process from start-to-finish, using upcycled materials, and creating only what we need minimizes our impact.
Our collection is entirely hand-tailored and largely repurposed from vintage textiles and vintage Moroccan rugs we source in the ancient Medina.
Our collection features one-of-a-kind apparel, footwear and accessories, including vintage textile jackets, bombers, kimonos, sweatshirts, sandals and slides, totes and handbags, Dopp kits and more.
The collection is now available at our retail stores in Aspen, Dallas and Los Angeles. If you are traveling to Marrakech, please let us know and we'd be happy to host you for a visit to our showroom. For more information, please contact us at info@resipsausa.com.
